Get answers to common questions about Sides.
A Sides threading appointment typically takes 10–20 minutes depending on hair density and precision required. First visits may take slightly longer for consultation and shaping. Our technicians work efficiently to deliver comfortable, accurate results while minimizing appointment time.
Many clients feel mild discomfort—quick stinging or tugging—during threading. Techniques like steady breathing, experienced technicians, and quick motions reduce pain. Topical numbing isn't usually necessary, but can be discussed for highly sensitive clients before the service.
For most clients, Sides threading every 3–6 weeks maintains a smooth look as hair regrows. Individual timing depends on personal hair growth rate and desired maintenance. Our specialists will recommend a schedule tailored to your needs during your visit.
Sensitive skin can react with temporary redness or irritation, but trained threaders use gentle techniques to minimize issues. We recommend a patch check for very reactive skin and soothing aftercare—cool compresses and fragrance-free moisturizers—to calm the area.
Avoid retinoids, chemical peels, and strong exfoliants 48–72 hours before your appointment to reduce sensitivity. Please arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. If you use prescription topical treatments, tell your technician so we can adjust timing safely.
Threading removes hair from the root but is not permanent. Repeated sessions can make regrowth finer and sparser for some people, but permanent removal requires electrolysis or laser. We can discuss long-term options during a consultation.
